"Cordelia was a fluent verse-speaker", or, My Claim to Fame.

I was rooting around for something much more important, and happened upon my souvenir copy of Amateur Stage. I don’t know how I got on the cover, but I do wish my hair still looked all tumbling and romantic.

Mine was the most demure of the costumes – well I was 18 – but I don’t think I could’ve pulled off Regan’s lycra leggings (quite literally, I should think). That’s my dad in the stocks! Should’ve taken advantage of that…

 with my dear friend Tim.

Pleats is the word.

I seem to have become a little taken with pleated skirts lately.
 From trashy vintage tiger-print…

(worn with H&M cardigan, River Island halter, New Look belt, Russell & Bromley shoes)

 …to demure nude silk…

(skirt by Linea via a charity shop, Warehouse vest, La Redoute cardigan, Bertie shoes)

…to a gorgeous hot pink bubble skirt.

(Asos skirt, H+M jumper, boots from Ebay, Mulberry satchel)

And look, just look at the pleats on this one from NW3 by Hobbs:

(worn with zara cardigan, vintage camisole, vintage belt, New Look boots)

I also have my eye on the leather kilt from M&S, though the cashflow chez Bossa will not allow further skirt-purchasing at present. Perhaps it’s a throwback to my days as a schoolgirl; perhaps I’m simply tired of the straight denim skirt that I’ve worn to death – either way, it’s a lot of pleats for a girl who hates ironing.
Thanks for the photos, Mr Bossa – sorry I chopped my own heads off)

Ah, THAT'S where the socks got to!

I almost groaned with pleasure when I saw these boots by Erdem:

Mr Bossa said the other day that my style is “half classy, half tacky”, and looking at these I suppose he’s right.  I can’t even pretend that these Sportmax boots are more sophisticated – well, I could, if they weren’t being worn with grey school socks – as predicted.

If I find some equally stunning but more affordable boots on the high street, I shall take it as a Sign from The Universe.

"Don't care how, I want it NOW!"

Mmm, lovely.

I’d wear this baby with grey ribbed tights and peeptoe ankle boots:

I know I shouldn’t say it, but…I can’t wait for autumn.
